Richard takes a very cautious stance against hypnotism. Used today at birthday parties, carnivals and social gatherings. Hypnotism is nothing short of the domination of one mind by another. The extent of this domination is not always complete, however Richard warns, it is quite unbreakable by the person hypnotized. The modern perception that a hypnotist could never force you to do something that you would not have done yourself is taken from incomplete experiments and we see that when a person’s mind is fully under the control of a hypnotist they are at the mercy of the mind in control. Many forms of mental healing rely on this to achieve their results. We often see that with the death of a mental healer, their patients’ diseases and symptoms begin to return.

This audiobook is one in a twelve part lecture series, The History and Power of Mind produced by Richard Ingalese in 1902, narrated by Scott Hutchinson.
